Naturopathic Hydrotherapy Practitioner Training

For those with prior university study in Naturopathic Hydrotherapy, enrolment is now open for 24-25 March 2024 practical training.

Enrolment closes 3 March 2024!

Online Theory Course

This portion of the course is available either on its own or as a pre-requisite to the hands-on training, and you can enrol in it anytime. All modules must be completed prior to attending the hands-on training to ensure a solid foundation for diving into practical activities. For those currently planning to enrol online, the next practical training is in the process of being scheduled for early 2025. The online enrolment deadline will be announced soon for those interested in joining the next practical.

  • Six modules (one per week for six weeks), each module includes approximately 2 hours of video

  • Workshop format includes handouts for use in practical training and later patient practice, and self-treatment practices for experiential learning (and to benefit your health!)

  • Private Facebook group (may change platforms later) dedicated to naturopathic hydrotherapy in Australia, where you can ask questions and compare experiences with treatments

  • Topics covered:

  • History and connection to modern naturopathic philosophy and clinical theory

  • Pertinent physiology and mechanisms by which hydrotherapy works

  • Effects of nervous system regulation and stimulation of homeostatic mechanisms

  • The healing power of water through the lens of the Chinese Five Elements

  • General guidelines for hydrotherapy treatments

  • Wraps, compresses and constitutional treatment

  • Baths/immersions and rinses

  • Hyperthermia/saunas

  • Steam (internal and external)

  • Dry skin brushing

  • Incorporating hydrotherapy into naturopathic practice

The online course cost is $333, or three fortnightly payments of $111.

Slide presentations and handouts are downloadable for your future reference, and access to video lectures is for 12 weeks or until you have completed the practical training (if you enrol in it).

Hands-On Training

Those who have completed the online training or can show evidence of having attended a university-level naturopathic hydrotherapy course in the last 10 years are eligible to attend the hands-on training. A minimum of eight (8) enrollees will be required for this training to run, and I anticipate that it will run twice a year in March and November.

The hands-on training cost is $444, or four fortnightly payments of $111.
